Who We Are

We are a global network of Jewish organizations and individuals united by a shared commitment to strengthening the bonds that connect the Jewish people.

Founded in the summer of 2023, our mission took on new urgency in the aftermath of October 7—a moment that underscored how essential it is for world Jewry to come together in deeper, more coordinated ways. Today, the need to support one another, build enduring relationships, and act on our shared values has never been greater.

Our work is focused on securing the Jewish future by connecting, convening, and strengthening cooperation. These three pillars help break down silos and bring greater coherence to the Jewish organizational ecosystem. By connecting organizations—and by engaging the reach and influence of the individuals in our Advisory Council and Global Jewry Circle—we are creating new pathways for collaboration, resilience, and collective impact.

We do not seek to create new programs for their own sake. Across the Jewish world, extraordinary work is already underway. Our role is to elevate it—to expand its reach, connect it to new audiences, and ensure it benefits from the collective strength of a broader, more aligned community.

We are guided by an exceptional and growing community of leaders, advisors, and Circle members—activists, creatives, and influencers — who bring both passion and purpose to strengthening the Jewish world. Their commitment to klal Yisrael is not abstract; it is demonstrated through action, partnership, and shared responsibility. Through our Advisory Council and Circle Members, the vital efforts of our partners travels further and resonates more deeply than any one organization could achieve alone.

Now, more than ever, we must stand together to build a vibrant, resilient, and deeply connected Jewish future.

Please join us in this important work.

GLOBAL NEWSFEED

We are committed to our website serving as a reliable hub for the latest news and happenings in the Jewish world. We look forward to providing you with all the information, opinions, and commentaries you need to stay current and to help you keep abreast of what others are thinking about the issues that matter most to you.

EVENTS CALENDAR

It is not always easy to find out what is happening in your local Jewish community,  much less in other places around the world. Whether you are looking for a Jewish activity or program on your computer, around the corner, or wherever you may be heading for business or pleasure, we want our website to be a source to which you can turn to engage, connect, learn and celebrate with others.

ISRAEL

The role Israel plays in Jewish life is ever-evolving any insightful overview of the Jewish homeland involves touching upon her rich history, vibrant culture, and geopolitical significance. Since we believe taking a truly comprehensive approach is the only way to begin to understand the beauty and complexity of Israel, we intend to link our website to a wide variety of institutions and organizations that can help you delve into the diverse and complicated landscape of the Jewish homeland at whatever depth you choose to delve.

REST OF THE JEWISH WORLD

Far too little attention is paid to Jewish communities outside of Israel and the United States, people and places who have contributed mightily the Jewish people for millennia. Many of these places and the members of the Jewish family who live there have important and relevant stories to tell, ones from which we can all learn a great deal. Our website will soon be a place you can visit to learn about and, more importantly, connect with Jewish communities all over the world.

LITERATURE AND TEXTS

The Jews are known as the “People of the Book” for a reason, and any website focused on the bonds that connect all members of the Jewish family must include a section allowing its visitors to explore the richness of texts and literature. Fortunately, there has been a tremendous amount of work done over the past several years digitizing and otherwise making Jewish texts and literature accessible online and we will be linking to those sites in the near future.

JEWISH HISTORY AND CULTURE

The Jewish people have a long and fascinating history and culture, one that has been well-documented in print, in video and in the arts. There are many sources of great information if you know where to look, and we are working on providing links to a wide range of existing websites so you can find what you want to learn whether you are new to the subject or a university professor.

ENVIRONMENT

Caring for our planet has always been a key component of Jewish religion and tradition. Long before the challenges of climate change became apparent, the Jewish people believed in protecting nature and preserving it for future generations. There are many Jewish organizations doing important work on environmental issues, and we are looking forward to helping them raise their profile and recruit volunteers.

TIKKUN OLAM

Another basic tenet of Jewish life is “tikkun okam,” repairing and improving the world. Every single day, members of the Jewish family are serving others, aiding the less fortunate and pursuing social justice for everyone in impressive and important ways. We are excited about the potential of Global Jewry to increase the awareness of those opportunities and to motivate more people to help make the world a better place for everyone. As the great sage Hillel said, “If we are only for ourselves, who are we?”

PHILANTHROPY

The Jewish philanthropic community is large, active and very generous. Jewish institutions, organizations and individuals received billions of dollars of support every year, and members of the Jewish family are significant donors to secular causes as well. Of course, there is never enough to meet all the existing needs much less to fund new initiatives. We hope to use our website to make giving as easy as possible. We want to help spread the word about all the important causes worthy of support and grow the overall amount of Jewish charitable giving each year.

Highlighting Sulam Israel, one of Global Jewry’s new partner organizations!

Sulam Israel began in 1981 when Mrs Faigy Ernster accepted a child with special needs into her private playgroup. Soon after she began to receive requests from more parents of children with special needs and she realized a more specialized framework was needed. She began the process of hiring professional staff and acquiring the various permits and licenses necessary.

From a small playgroup run by a woman with a great heart, Sulam has grown into a leading network of schools and therapeutic centers which stand at the head of special education in Israel.

“Cultural influence…offers an opportunity to reveal the deeper nature of Israeli society and to create emotional connections with international audiences. Yet in many Western countries, it is often within cultural and academic circles that the most critical perceptions of Israel are found.

But did you know that Israel has also become highly influential in a surprising and unexpected field: jazz?”

In this week’s GJ Connections, IsraeliJazz President Raphael Perez breaks down how the project promotes Israeli jazz and aims to strengthen Israel’s global image by showcasing its diversity, innovation, and cultural depth. By joining the Global Jewry network, Perez hopes to spark new partnerships and share the beauty of Israel’s jazz scene on an international scale. Read more at globaljewry.org/jazz-as-an-asset/.
