Building Community Team

Members of our Building Community Team:    Naomi Adler, Jeff Bicher, Rabbi Silvina Chemen (co-leader), Diego Goldman, Gail Kaplan, Richard Levin (co-leader), Jacob Ner-David, Tracie Olcha, Eli Ovits, Cantor Manny Perlman, David Phillips, Will Recant, Peleg Reshef, Steve Rosenberg, Alan Scher, Andrei Schwartz and Ron Wolfson. 

The focus of our Building Community Team is based on a vision that transcends boundaries and is deeply rooted in the values of inclusivity, connection, and a shared sense of purpose: inspiring and motivating 1,000,000 Jewish people from all over the world to engage with each other in a meaningful way, to foster stronger bonds and connections, and to nurture a sense of belonging to the global Jewish community. The result will be the world's largest online Jewish community.

In a world that feels fragmented, where divisions often overshadow our commonalities, this team is taking on a profound challenge. And yet, there is much good from which we can draw. There is immense potential that lies within the Jewish community, a tapestry of diverse individuals, each with their unique stories, traditions, and perspectives. It is within this richness of diversity that our strength emerges, and it is through unity that we can minimize our divisions while celebrating our commonalities.

The journey ahead is not without its obstacles, but it is driven by an unwavering belief in the power of community, the strength of shared heritage, and the potential for positive change. Together, this group seeks to inspire and motivate, not through force or coercion, but through the compelling power of the universality, inclusivity and importance of Jewish peoplehood.

Of course, it is essential to remember that building connections and forging ties is not just about increasing numbers. It is about creating a space where every person, regardless of their background, feels welcomed, valued, and cherished. It is about building bridges of understanding, both within and beyond the Jewish community, reaching out to the wider world and fostering dialogue, empathy, and collaboration.
