TL;DR: In 2001, Sandy Cardin, then leading the Schusterman Foundation, realized that the CEOs of two of their largest grantees, with offices just blocks apart, had never met, a symptom of a huge challenge in the Jewish world: silos preventing collaboration. Global Jewry was created to break these barriers, connecting over 400 Jewish organizations and 800 leaders worldwide to share resources, strengthen solidarity, and amplify impact. Through programs like Master Classes, Global Roundtables, Regional Gatherings, and Mentorship, Global Jewry facilitates meaningful connections while remaining apolitical, nonsectarian, and focused on collective success. If you believe in the power of collaboration, join us in this effort to ensure a stronger, more connected Jewish future.

Sandy Cardin, the CEO and Founder of Global Jewry, often tells the story of how in 2001, when he was leading the Schusterman Foundation, he realized the heads of their two largest grantees had never met despite their offices being only a few blocks apart in DC and they both were working on college campuses.

How often has something similar happened to us – either as leaders or as organization heads? This is something we can all relate to. In fact, it is natural that when Jews around the world are grappling with similar challenges that many different responses would simultaneously arise.

Some of us are leaders of Jewish organizations and some of us are individual leaders and activists. All of us are having similar conversations about where the world is heading, what it means for Jewish people around the world, what it means for Israel, how we deal with rising antisemitism, political change, geopolitical threats, and what it all means for us.

We may not agree on how to solve those challenges but one thing is for certain: we will not solve them alone. Imagine if there was a place for more of those direct and open conversations, a place to learn together, to break down silos and create meaningful collaborations. A place to meet with not just the usual suspects and those people we already know, but people from other countries and other viewpoints. A platform that would help me and my organization leverage and expand our goals in a truly global fashion.

Enter Global Jewry.

A few days ago several of our advisory board members came together for a messaging session – how do we better make the case for Global Jewry? What stories do we tell to make its advantages tangible to people? What is our unique offering? What are the challenges and common questions we face? Below are some of the ways we have addressed those questions.

If you find yourself in meaningful Jewish conversations, you should be able to make the case for Global Jewry. If you want to find out how, here is some clear wording and messages to help you make your case:

Our Vision, Mission & Value Proposition

We envision a connected, collaborative Jewish people fueled by a global network of Jewish organizations working together to address the needs of Jewish and broader communities throughout the world.

Our mission is to leverage the collective passion, energy and resources of Jewish organizations in new and unprecedented ways to connect and strengthen the Jewish people.

We are the only global network of Jewish organizations working together to support each other, increase cooperation, share resources and amplify impact.

Who Are We?

What Makes Us Different

Global Jewry is the only Jewish organization focused exclusively on:

  • Increasing alignment by dismantling silos
  • Improving coordination by reducing competition
  • Optimizing community resources by minimizing duplication
  • Building coalitions to meet shared objectives

Through our work, we hope to help deepen connections between Jewish organizations, reinforce Jewish solidarity and enhance the ability of the Jewish world to deliver more unified and agile responses to urgent threats, both to the Jewish people and beyond.

Tell Your Story

Like Sandy’s story above, what is your story? Can you recall a time when you stumbled across a really great connection and realized the power of collaboration? Or when you saw a great idea fail because of needless competition and tribalism? Those are the stories that make the case for Global Jewry.

If you, like us, are having lots of Jewish conversations, and you, like us, care deeply about the future of the Jewish people, then share your story and make the case for Global Jewry.

Connect funders with our cause. Help make the Global Jewry more than just a slogan or an idea. Make it the best club you ever joined and a powerful force for good in this world.

See you there!

Shabbat shalom and may this be the week the hostages return home,

Kylie Eisman-Lifschitz,

CEO of Work well
