TL;DR: In a time of division and uncertainty, Donna Friedman Meir is honored to step into the role of Board Chair of Limmud North America and to join the Global Jewry Advisory Board. Both organizations share a commitment to celebrating Jewish diversity, fostering connection, and strengthening community through lifelong learning. Together, they can reimagine and renew Jewish life, building the trust, curiosity, and collaboration our future depends on.

At a time when our community faces polarization, mistrust, and uncertainty, celebrating diversity and deepening Jewish connection through shared learning—feels more urgent and relevant than ever. That is why I agreed to step into the role of the new Board Chair of Limmud North America, an international organization dedicated to bringing Jews of every denomination, identity, and background together for transformative learning experiences.

Limmud North America, a proud partner of Global Jewry, convenes thousands of participants annually through festivals, gatherings, and digital offerings. Each experience is rooted in the belief that Jewish learning is a lifelong journey and that every person has something to teach as well as to learn. This approach builds connections across divides and fosters a culture of respect, curiosity, and joy—qualities our community desperately needs right now.

I believe deeply in the power of Limmud’s model. With decades of experience building innovative brands and inspiring experiences, I see tremendous opportunity to help this beloved global movement grow its impact at a moment when Jewish community must be reimagined and renewed. My goal is to strengthen Limmud North America’s reach, nurture its partnerships, and support the extraordinary leaders and volunteers who make our programs possible.

It is for these same reasons that I am excited to join the Global Jewry Advisory Board. Limmud’s vision aligns seamlessly with Global Jewry’s mission to foster collaboration, trust, and mutual respect across the Jewish world. By working together, we can create pathways for deeper connection and collective action, ensuring that Jewish learning and community remain vibrant for generations to come.

I look forward to learning from and partnering with many of you as we pursue this shared vision of a thriving Jewish future. In the spirit of collaboration, I invite you to join us for the 2025 Global Day of Jewish Learning on or around November 9, uniting more than 10,000 participants and 150+ organizations worldwide.

Together, through Limmud, through Global Jewry, and through each of our efforts, we can build the connections and inspiration our people need right now, and into the future.

Shavua Tov and may we see more peace and hope, steadily and soon,

Donna Friedman Meir

Board Chair, Limmud North America
