JFNA Raises Funds for Jewish Day Schools
The Israeli government and the Jewish Federations of North America have launched a $66.7 million initiative to expand Jewish day school education across the United States and Canada.
Under the plan, Israel will provide $33.4 million, with philanthropic donors matching the amount to address major barriers to enrollment, including tuition costs, limited school availability, perceptions of academic quality and support for students with learning disabilities.
JFNA leaders said the partnership reflects a growing focus on strengthening Jewish identity and connections to Israel among younger generations, particularly amid rising antisemitism following the Oct. 7 attacks.
While the funding alone will not meet the long-term need, organizers view it as an important first step toward increasing access to Jewish education and building a larger, more sustainable investment in the future.
