TL;DR: Global Jewry is launching two new $10,000 prizes this fall to promote collaboration across the global Jewish community. The Shoshana Shoubin Cardin Prize honors impactful existing partnerships, while the Global Jewry Prize for Emerging Collaboration supports bold new joint initiatives. The prizes aim not just to reward, but to inspire connection, creativity, and shared purpose.

At a time when discord, division and disconnection are rampant in the Jewish world, we believe there’s a better way forward — one rooted in trust, creativity, and shared purpose.

This fall, Global Jewry is proud to launch two new prizes that celebrate and encourage collaboration across the global Jewish world. These awards of $10,000 each are grounded in our core mission: to foster connection and cooperation among Jewish organizations of all types, traditions, and geographies.

We are thrilled to announce:

  • The Shoshana Shoubin Cardin Prize for Exemplary Collaboration, honoring an existing partnership that has already made a meaningful impact; and
  • The Global Jewry Prize for Emerging Collaboration, designed to support and help launch a bold new effort to work together.

These two prizes reflect both sides of what collaboration makes possible: the power of what’s already been achieved — and the promise of what can be built next.

The selection process will be led by a dynamic and diverse committee of Jewish leaders from all over the world, the honorary co-chairs of which are Avital and Natan Sharansky. They and all of the other members of the prize committee know firsthand what it takes to build trust and work across boundaries. They don’t just support collaboration — they embody it.

In the weeks ahead, we’ll introduce you to the other members of this remarkable committee, share full details on how to apply or nominate, and open the call for submissions. Whether you’re part of an established partnership doing extraordinary work, or you’ve got a big idea for something new, we hope you’ll be part of this journey.

For now, stay tuned — because these prizes aren’t just awards. They’re an invitation. A spotlight. A challenge. And a celebration of what becomes possible when we choose to build together.

Follow Global Jewry for updates — and help us honor the partners, pioneers, and future collaborators lighting the way forward.

Shavua tov and may this be the week the hostages return home,

Sandy Cardin
