Andrew Gilbert works in the luxury products sector. He is best known globally for growing Limmud in the UK before becoming the founding Chair of Limmud International expanding from 5 to 45 locations.
After many years focusing on communal transformation in both Jewish organisational leadership and in the political sphere, he has spent the last five years on the relationship of the Jewish Community to the City in which he lives.
The needs and expectations of the Jewish Community in London have been changed by the pandemic, by the recovery and now by October 7th. As the Co Chair of the London Jewish Forum new networks have been created where Jewish leaders in these fields are shaping a new understanding of our community and what it means to be Jewish. This has led to the formation of the London Jewish Health Partnership, the London Jewish Police Forum and being a founding anchor in the London Anchor Institutions Network. In Jewish Peoplehood terms this has widened the lens from protective characteristics to new missions around Cultural Competence, Cultural Sensitivity and Inequalities.
